Materials are an object in Simmetri that are applied to mesh-models (entities and imported 3D models) to endow the shape with all the attributes of its look, its appearance... how it reacts to light. A material can be created in your library and applied across many entities in the space, and if you change the properties of the underlying material all the objects with that material applied will change with it.
- Undock the browser panel in the upper left window.
- Click on the Library Add button denoted by the + in the bottom right of the panel.
- Click on Materials and then click on New StandardMaterial.
- Drag and drop the StandardMaterial icon onto an object.
To change material properties, right click the StandardMaterial icon and then click on Display Properties.
