Make a logo float in the air.
- Undock the browser panel in the upper left window.
- Click on the Library Add button denoted by the + in the bottom right of the panel.
- Click on Materials and then click on New StandardMaterial.
- Drag and drop the StandardMaterial icon onto an object.
- Undock the browser panel and double click the Material item that you want to change so that the property editor panel is undocked.
- In the left listbox of the property editor panel, click on the Transparency item. In the right listbox, ensure the Transparency property is expanded and set Blend Mode to Alpha blended.
- Ensure that Use Diffuse Map Alpha is set to false. This will make the object’s shadow take the shape of the PNG image.
- Ensure that the Opacity Map property is expanded. Hover your mouse to the right of the Texture property and click new.
- Click on Import Texture from File… and choose a PNG that you want to use from your files. You should notice that your object now takes on the shape of your PNG image where the transparent part of the PNG makes the object transparent.
- In the left listbox of the property editor panel, click on the Diffuse item.
- In the right listbox, ensure the DiffuseMap property is expanded. Hover your mouse to the right of the Texture property and click new.
- Click on Import Texture from File… and choose an image that you want to use from your files. You should notice that your object’s PNG shape will now take on the selected image as its texture.
- Note that you do not need to use the same file that you set with the Transparency property. You also do not need to select a PNG file here.
